THE MILLENNIUM EXPERIENCE

 Jim Parton

This book is the most comprehensive explanation of the Millennium Experience, the Dome's stunning exhibition that has been inspired by a passionate belief that it is 'time to make a difference to our future'. Through the Experience, it is hoped that by December 2000 over 12 million visitors will have explored their own futures and the broader possibilities of life in the centuries to come.

Written with exclusive access to the designers and artists behind the zones - some of Britain's finest creative minds - this book is a lively account of the most ambitious exhibition ever mounted in the century, and is illustrated in colour throughout.

Written with exclusive access to all the eminent 'godparents', 'expert witnesses', designers and sponsors of the zones, the book will be a fascinating, lively account of how a vague idea for a national millennial celebration gelled into the most ambitious exhibition ever mounted in Britain. It will be illustrated in colour throughout, with unique glimpses of early sketches, plans, artworks and CAD images as well as lavish double-page photographs of the finished zones, taken just before the Dome finally threw open its doors on 31st December 1999.
