Marathon

Hal Higdon (author) comments:
This book was a labor of love for me. I first ran the Boston Marathon
in 1959. I ran my 18th Boston and my 100th marathon at the 100th
anniversary of this classic running event in 1996. "Boston: A Century
of Running" captures in words and pictures the glamour, the
excitement of what Dr. George Sheehan called "The Boston,"
telling not only about winners from Clarence DeMar to Johnny Kelley to
Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit, but also the ordinary people that are so
much a part of it today. |
